Abdullah Abdulghani & Bros Co (AAB), exclusive distributor of Toyota and Lexus in Qatar, was the main sponsor of the recently concluded second season of volleyball matches conducted by Volley Friends Qatar (VFQ).
VFQ is an expatriate sports organisation consisting of senior players from the working Indian community in Qatar and invited players from India.
Prior to the games, a jersey-launching ceremony was conducted where the draw for the teams was also held.
Six teams participated in the one-day league, which was organised to bring the Indian community together through sports and to foster the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie, AAB said in a statement.
The AAB team won the tournament and became champions, followed by the Tamam Trading team as first runner-up.
The games were held at the Qatar Volleyball Association indoor courts, Al Arabi Stadium.
“AAB’s commitment to community sports is part of its CSR initiative geared towards the development of the community through sports,” the statement added.
