The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has been awarded a renowned RSA Excellence Award for its work in the field of cybersecurity and safeguarding.
The award was given in recognition of the SC's 'RSA Archer Suite' project after the Security and IT departments demonstrated an ability to stretch the capabilities of the system and create an impact on both a regional and enterprise level.
Major Othman al-Homoud, deputy head, Cyber-Security Unit, Security Committee; and Maryam al-Muftah, director, IT at SC, accepted the award on behalf of the SC.
Commenting on the award, al-Homoud said, "I am delighted to accept this prestigious award on behalf of my colleagues in the Security Committee and the SC.
"From day one we have always treated the subject of security as our greatest priority and we work together every day to deliver not only the greatest FIFA World Cup in tournament history, but also the safest. Projects such as this play a huge part in helping us achieve these goals."
Al-Muftah added: "The SC has successfully used the Archer system to host and manage the cyber-security capabilities framework created for the 2022 FIFA World Cup - an enormous task and one that requires a great deal of commitment, collaboration and continuity.
"I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of the SC and the IT department, and I look forward to continuing to build on this success over the coming years as we work together to deliver amazing in 2022."
The RSA Archer Suite project was established by the SC to oversee the implementation of a unified cyber-security capabilities framework. The system is accessible to the multiple entities and organisations across Qatar who are involved in delivering a safe and successful tournament in 2022.
The framework allows organisations to quickly implement risk-based cyber-security building practices that tackle people, processes and technology elements - all based on industry standards and best practices. This, in turn, leads to improved cyber-security maturity, more informed decision making and enhanced business performance.
