The Ministry of Municipality and Environment's (MME) Public Cleaning Department has implemented a cleaning campaign of the northern-western beaches of the country stretching across 75km.
The campaign covered Al Arayish Abu Zallauf on the northern side reaching to Zekrait area, where 480 tonnes of varied waste and garbage were lifted.

Safar Mubarak al-Shafi, director of the Public Cleaning Department, pointed out that this campaign is part of the special programme to clean all the beaches of the country. The second phase of the campaign covered the beaches stretching from Al Zubarah reaching to Umm Hayish and the third phase would cover Umm Hayish to Zekrit area.
