Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) will welcome a number of visiting consultants from various medical specialties during the months of January and February.
The visiting consultants are as follows: Dr Patrik Velander, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Skne University Hospital in Lund, Sweden, will visit from 5 to 11 January; and Dr Alessandro Repici, a gastroenterology specialist from Milan, Italy, will visit from 13 to 15 January; and Dr Antonio Torres, Professor of Surgery at the Complutense University of Madrid and Chief of the General, Digestive and Thoracic Surgery Service at the Clinico San Carlos Hospital in Madrid, Spain, will visit from 11 to 14 January; and Dr Robert Turcotte, Chair of Surgical Oncology at Mc Gill University Health Centre, Canada, will visit from 14 to 17 January, conducting clinics and surgeries; and Dr
Noriko Suzuki, a Consultant Gastroenterologist from St Mark's Hospital in, Harrow, England, UK, will visit from 16 to 20 January; and Dr Gideon Hirschfield, Senior Lecturer and Consultant Hepatologist with the University Hospitals Birmingham, Birmingham, UK, and a specialist in the field of gastroenterology, including autoimmune liver disease, will visit from 17 to 21 February.
Other experts are scheduled to visit this year as part of HMC's focus on hosting highly-respected physicians and surgeons from around the world.
Hosting visiting international consultants who are experts in their field is in line with HMC's commitment to providing specialised medical services to the people of Qatar.
