Qatar University’s (QU) Foundation Programme Department of English (FPDE), along with the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CFE), a centre under the College of Business and Economics (CBE), recently held ‘The Entrepreneurial Showcase Event’.

It was a demonstration of CBE students’ work on a course project related to inventing ideas for new businesses in Qatar.

The event exhibited 82 business ideas on posters for the general public to view and each student gave visitors presentations about their business ideas in English. They also administered surveys to use as market research for each of their respective topics.

The event also ran a competition for best project, with each poster evaluated by English Faculty team and CFE members. The top three projects for female and male students were awarded trophies and prizes at the end of the event.

‘The Entrepreneurial Showcase Event’ was an opportunity for the QU community to see the work that is being done at FPDE and how they are working with the CFE in using innovative learning methods to enhance students’ communicative abilities in English and promoting entrepreneurial spirits.
