The Qatar Central Bank (QCB) yesterday raised deposit rate by 25 basis points to 2.5%. The QCB said the decision comes in line with the US Federal Reserve’s move on Wednesday, raising the key interest rate for the fourth time this year by 25 basis points. The Qatari riyal is pegged to the US dollar at a fixed exchange rate since 1980. 


Chief of Staff meets 
US Air Force general

HE the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem yesterday met Chief of Staff of the US Air Force General David Goldfein. During the meeting, they discussed military relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them. The meeting was attended by HE Amiri Air Force Commander Major General (Pilot) Mubarak Mohamed al-Khayarin, and head of International Military Co-operation Authority Brigadier-General (Pilot) Fahad Hamad al-Sulaiti.
