The National Day festivities at Katara came to an end on Wednesday. Thousands of people had visited Katara to celebrate the occasion.

Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) president HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani also participated in the activities of Katara by leading the flag parade at the Katara esplanade.

The drone show featured more than 300 different drones which glowed in the skies above Katara forming different symbols related to Qatar.

Folk dance bands, including the Russian and Asian, performed. A very special and unique event during the Katara National Day festivities was the operetta “All united Hand in Hand”, which reflected the spirit of solidarity between citizens and expatriates living in Qatar.

The military music festival saw several countries contributing, including Jordan, Turkey, and Italy in addition to the Amiri guard cavalry.

Besides, many art workshops were organised for children to draw the best artwork of Qatari symbols. Medical institutions hosted and free medical check-ups for visitors.

One of the highlights of the festivities at Katara, was the inauguration of a major project, The “Al Thuraya Dome” Planetarium on the occasion of the National Day.
