Aspire CEO: National Day is a source of pride for everyone

Aspire Zone Foundation CEO Mohamed Khalifa al-Suwaidi stated that the National Day is considered one of the most precious occasions by citizens and residents, adding that it’s a source of pride for everyone living on this land. He said that National Day is tribute to our ancestors who made sacrifices so that we can live a safe life under one flag.
Furthermore, he stressed on how National Day is an annual anniversary in which we renew our loyalty to our homeland and plant the love of this country in the hearts of our children. He believed that there is no better chance than the National Day to do so.
Regarding the continuous achievements and the renaissance witnessed by Qatar after the Founder placed the pillars of the State more than a hundred years ago, al-Suwaidi said that if the Founder was alive today, he would be proud of the achievements of his descendants, adding that those who lived a hundred years ago would think that this is a different country if they saw it today.
Aspire CEO also stated that Qatar’s transformation over the last century, especially during the past few decades, brought radical changes to the infrastructure and the state. He pointed out that these changes encompassed economy, politics, sport, arts and other fields. He added that due to the achievements of the state over the past decades, people around the world now know about Qatar even if a little bit.
He added that the important thing about these achievements is that the country retained the spirit of authenticity and culture despite its distinctive modern characteristics.
On the resilience of Qatar against the blockade and its success in handling it, al-Suwaidi said that Qatar is victorious at all levels and remains one of the most developed countries in the region; this crisis, as His Highness the Amir said in his speech after the blockade, pushed the Qatari society to explore its strengths, unity, will and determination.
Al-Suwaidi also pointed out that Qatar successfully dealt with the effects of the economic blockade; His Highness the Amir, in his speech in front of the Advisory Council, stressed that the sovereignty of the country will not be compromised.
Al-Suwaidi added that Qatar was the wisest and most rational party, politically and diplomatically. He expressed his confidence that the Qatari leadership’s reaction to the crisis will be studied in international diplomatic forums.
Al-Suwaidi said that we created several opportunities, from this crisis, to focus internally, and we did not get dragged behind the confusion nor did we change our direction and aims to advance our nation in all fields. The leadership made a bet on the loyalty and determination of the citizens and residents, and they won that bet. He pointed out that we made unprecedented achievements in sports and raised the flag of our country in international forums, adding that we proved our ethics and sportsmanship during the crisis.
Aspire CEO also pointed out that His Highness the Amir is the best role model through his strength and love for his country, citizens and residents and his diligent efforts to protect and develop the state; thus, we have to always serve Qatar to build its economy and protect its security as His Highness the Amir said that Qatar deserves the best from its people.
Al-Suwaidi also called on the youth of this country to think and pay attention to education and self-reliance to achieve Qatar’s national vision and help it reach the ranks of developed countries.
He clarified that in Aspire Zone Foundation, they dedicate all their capabilities and expertise to achieve the aims of Qatar National Vision 2030 with its various human, economic and environmental pillars, and support the efforts of state institutions and the private sector to implement their projects that contribute to the development of the country.
Al-Suwaidi added that Aspire Zone Foundation made great progress in achieving its vision of becoming an example of global sporting excellence by the year 2022, pointing out that Aspire has been able to establish itself in many areas of research, sports science, sports medicine, sustainability and the organisation and management of major events. All this progress is important to promote Aspire as a complete sports city and Doha as a capital of sport worldwide.
