Syrian ambassador to Qatar Nizar Hasan al-Haraki said that Qatari and Syrian people are connected with one language, background and a common history.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) for Qatar National Day, ambassador al-Haraki said the two brotherly peoples have mutual respect and similar aspiration for a bright future, especially that they both seek to restore the nation’s excellence, civilisation, prosperity and its youth’s dignity.
The envoy praised Qatar’s honourable stance in resolving disputes and tensions using peaceful methods and soft diplomacy, which reflects the wisdom of its decision makers and their farsightedness.
He called on nations and their leaders to follow in Qatar’s footsteps and this humanitarian-political ideology which chooses principles over pure interest.
The Syrian ambassador expressed great admiration to the development, achievements and gains seen in Qatar on all levels including development of infrastructures, road networks, means of transportation and communications, development plans and education and health programmes.
He highlighted that development covers individuals and institutions, which is not strange for a country with a long history, with a strong-willed population.
He said the current and past leaders have sought to achieve great growth and economic leap as part of the visions adopted, most recently Qatar National Vision 2030, which works on enhancing the role of Qataris, ensuring their well-being and diversifying their income.
The Syrian ambassador expressed his deep congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the wise government and the Qatari people on the occasion of Qatar National Day, wishing them many years of blessings and further prosperity and development, hoping that Allah sustains His grace on this country and its people.
