The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in co-operation with the National Tourism Council, is launching on Saturday the first edition of the National Day Trade Festival.
The six-day festival, which is part of Qatar National Day celebrations, enjoys the participation of 14 malls and over 600 outlets from the retail, hospitality, leisure, and education sectors in addition to clinics, medical and beauty centres and service companies among other institutions.
By organising the first-of-its-kind festival which runs until December 20, the Ministry offers retail outlet owners, working professionals and all private sector companies and organisations operating across various industries across the country the opportunity to share with Qatar residents the joy of celebrating National Day through the launch of huge and unprecedented discounts.
The private sector companies and organisations participating in the festival cover all trade and service sectors such as shopping malls, restaurants, retail outlets, beauty salons, hospitality service providers, hotels, sport clubs, health and beauty centres and institutes, and entertainment centres.
The front windows of participating outlets and companies will bear the National Day Trade Festival logo label, designed specifically for the event.
This initiative comes as part of the Ministry's efforts to organise events that reflect pride in National Day celebrations and contribute to cementing the values of loyalty and solidarity with the country and its wise leadership.
The Ministry also seeks to bolster trade activity across all markets by offering retail outlets the opportunity to offer outstanding promotions, enabling shoppers to benefit from discounts during this period.
Through the festival, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the National Tourism Council aim to support the private sector and boost demand across the retail sector. The festival will stimulate trade across local markets, contribute to the country's economy, stimulate internal and external tourism and create an environment conducive to the growth of the trade sector.
Companies looking to participate in the National Day Trade Festival can register by visiting the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s building (Quality License and Market Control Department - 3rd Floor) and presenting an official letter and a copy of the commercial register and commercial license.
