Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is preparing to commemorate Qatar National Day with staff, patients, and visitors throughout the week leading up to December 18.
Under this year’s theme ‘Qatar Will Remain Free,’ HMC’s hospitals and facilities are gearing up for the celebration with an array of cultural events and traditional activities to demonstrate appreciation and gratitude to the nation and its wise leadership. The activities will showcase Qatar’s heritage and traditions, and unite the community in celebrating their pride in the country.
Qatar National Day brings the nation together and showcases its history, identity, and traditions. It also pays tribute to the efforts of the current and past leadership that have helped to build the nation.
HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari, said, “I would like to convey my heartfelt congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and the His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdulla bin Hamad al-Thani, as well as the government of Qatar, all Qataris and expatriates, and everyone who has been committed to Qatar’s prosperity and worked hard to fulfil our national aspirations and ambitions.”
Dr al-Kuwari added that Qatar National Day is an occasion when the entire nation can celebrate Qatar's past achievements, current successes, and renew a commitment to a prosperous and sustainable future.
Ali Abdulla al-Khater, chief communications officer at HMC and chair of the Ministry of Public Health’s Healthcare Communications Committee, said HMC is looking forward to celebrating the day with staff, patients, and visitors.
“Every year on December 18, we celebrate Qatar National Day in commemoration of our unification, solidarity, and identity. This unique and important occasion emphasises our identity and history, embodies the ideals and visionary aspirations that this country was founded on, and pays homage to the great people who participated in building our nation. Our planned celebrations reflect HMC’s contribution to fostering a sense of national identity among locals and expatriates. ”
As part of Qatar National Day celebrations, staff from HMC’s Ambulance Service and Hamad Injury Prevention Programme, the community outreach arm of the Hamad Trauma Center, will be at Darb Al Saai until December 20. HMC staff will educate the public about the key messages of its ‘Know the 5 to save a life’ national awareness campaign and will raise awareness about the importance of road safety.
