Doha Forum, a leading global policy forum held under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, is set to begin on December 15 at Sheraton Grand Doha Resort & Convention Hotel. 
The two-day annual policy gathering will see the participation of high-level speakers and attendees who will convene in Qatar to discuss “Shaping Policy in an Interconnected World” through four themes: Security, Economic Development, Peace and Mediation, and Trends and Transitions, the organisers have said in a statement.
HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman al-Thani, HE the Minister of Finance Ali Sherif al-Emadi, HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and HE the Minister of State for Energy Affairs and president & CEO of Qatar Petroleum, Saad bin Sherida al-Kaabi, will participate in high-level plenary sessions throughout the course of the forum. 
Additional distinguished speakers and attendees include António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations; Hassan Ali Khayre, Prime Minister of Somalia, Mevlut Cavusoglu, Foreign Minister of Turkey; Mohamed Javad Zarif, Foreign Minister of Iran; TaroKono, Foreign Minister of Japan; Teodor-Viorel Melescanu, Foreign Minister of Romania; Berat Albayrak, Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey; and Maria Fernanda Espinosa, President of the United Nations General Assembly. 
Nadia Murad, 2018 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, will participate in a newsmaker session moderated by Al Jazeera’s 
Rawaa Augé.
The 18th edition of Doha Forum “is pioneering partnerships with leading global institutions to curate and execute high-level panels, workshops and plenaries, showcasing the forum’s new model and vision in becoming a leading global policy conference”, the statement notes. The 2018 forum’s overarching strategic partners are the Munich Security Conference, International Crisis Group and European Council on Foreign Relations. 
This edition’s institutional partners include Qatar’s Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, National Tourism Council, Qatar Fund for Development and Qatar Foundation.
