HEC Paris, one of the world’s leading providers of Executive Education, recently held an Entrepreneurship Day for all participants of the HEC Paris Executive MBA (EMBA) Class of 2019.
The Entrepreneurship Day, linked to the Entrepreneurial Mindset module of the EMBA, welcomed leading figures from Qatar Foundation (QF), Qatar Business Incubation Centre (QBIC), the Digital Incubation Centre (DIC) of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP) and Qatar Financial Centre Authority (QFCA). 
The industry experts shared their knowledge and expertise with the participants and discussed the initiatives they have in place to support local entrepreneurs. 
Dr Nils Plambeck, dean and CEO of HEC Paris in Qatar, said: “Entrepreneurship is deeply rooted in the Qatari business culture and HEC Paris in Qatar is proud to contribute by training and educating the local professionals in bringing new ideas as well as helping Qatar to achieve the National Vision 2030. By hosting this event, we wanted to offer a launch pad to our budding entrepreneurs who wanted to get first-hand insights and information.”
The Entrepreneurship Day, held at the Doha Marriott Hotel, included a session, led by Adel Boseli, head of incubation at QBIC, on how to adopt a lean start-up approach as well as customer discovery, validation and creation. Participants were also given financing tips and crucial information on how to start a venture with QBIC. 
Dhoha al-Buhendi, Digital Incubation Centre manager from DIC at MoTC, spoke of the role of the Digital Incubation Centre to boost ICT innovation in Qatar, while Hayfa al-Abdulla, innovation director at QSTP, showcased the range of programmes it offers to support technology development, innovation and entrepreneurship in Qatar. 
Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad al-Thani, managing director, Business Development, Qatar Financial Centre, said: “Entrepreneurship acts as a stimulating component of healthy economic landscapes by boosting overall business growth and promoting job creation. By encouraging the development of the private sector, the Qatar Financial Centre is committed to supporting Qatar’s current and aspiring entrepreneurs by providing a seamless set up process.”
The day ended with alumni presenting their projects where intriguing business ideas were shared with the audience.
