Qatar’s Attorney-General Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri, in his capacity as Chairman of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), chaired the association’s executive committee meeting in Kuala Lumpur.
The two-day meeting will discuss a number of topics on the agenda, most notably the upcoming annual conference of the IAACA, to be held in Vienna, Austria, early next year.
The meeting will also discuss the drafting of a new constitution for the association as well as the approval of the annual plan and the discussion of the status of its general secretariat.
The meeting was attended by a number of members of the Executive Committee of the IAACA, including Minister of Justice of Azerbaijan Fikrat Mammadov, Secretary to Hong Kong Commission Against Corruption Sally Kwan, Director of the Office of the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) Giovanni Quaglia.
The General Assembly of IAACA held in China in May 2016 elected HE Dr Ali bin Fetais al-Marri as its chairman.
The International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities was founded in Vienna in 2006 and was based in Beijing, China. IAACA aims to effectively implement the provisions of the United Nations Convention against Corruption by supporting national authorities working in this field.
IAACA has more than 140 member countries and has held annual meetings since 2007 in a number of different cities and capitals.
