Katara – the Cultural Village has launched Burger Festival yesterday at its south beach area with more than 70 restaurants participating. The best burger restaurants in Doha are offering a wide variety of flavours and recipes at the five-day event, which will conclude on December 8.
Katara’s Services Department manager Hussein al-Baker, along with Kozzette Solutions (festival’s organising company) CEO Omar Shamiya, inaugurated the event on behalf of the general manager, Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti. The festival also hosts some of the home micro-businesses involved in food industry, in addition to some cafes and sweet shops. Besides entertainment shows, the festival also holds up an array of activities and competitions for children. According to Katara, the Burger Festival features the best burger makers in the world with recipes of different countries and orientation which gives visitors a chance to experiment the different types of burgers in one place. “Katara has been keen to host such a festival to introduce visitors to the different flavours and options of burgers available in the markets and to also be updated with the latest recipes in the field of fast foods,” al-Baker said. He added that the festival is a chance for families to enjoy the evenings with the variety of activities and entertainment facilities provided at the fair such as the large trampolines and different competitions, including the PlayStation tournament with QR30,000 worth of prizes.
The festival opens its doors for the public daily from 12noon to midnight until December 8.
