An explosion at a shopping centre in the Malaysian state of Sarawak left at least 3 people dead and 18 people injured on Tuesday, according to local news outlet The New Straits Times.
The explosion, which occurred at City One Megamall in the state capital Kuching, is suspected to have been caused by a gas leak, according to fire department officials.
Video footage from local broadcaster Astro Awani showed the ground floor of the mall strewn with cables and Christmas decorations.
People were pictured lying on the ground, some with ripped clothing, as civil defence officials undertook rescue operations at the scene.
