Ghadeer Dairy has announced that it is 100% Qatari-owned following the purchase of non-Qatari shares by Mohammed Hamad Al Mana Group of Companies after the imposition of the blockade.
Ghadeer Dairy is a major provider of fresh dairy and juice products in the local market.
To celebrate this milestone in its 30-year history “serving the finest dairy and juice products in the Qatari market”, the company has embarked on a major advertising campaign with the tagline “Ghadeer, from our family to yours for over 30 years”.
“Established in 1986, Ghadeer was the first dairy business in Qatar, and remains the only fully integrated dairy in the country, with its own agriculture and dairy farm, factory and distribution resources serving the Qatar market,” Ghadeer Dairy said in a statement.
The company said it has been “revamping its facilities through state-of-the-art technology and appropriating local and international expertise” in dairy production to meet the growing demand for food security and sustainability in accordance with directives from the relevant authorities and Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives.
“Its agriculture farm is the largest green farm in Qatar, located over an area in excess of 1,200 hectares that is divided into 20 centre pivots, cultivating green fodder crops as a major source of feeding for the herd in the cow farm.
“The surplus is sold in the local market, meeting the demand of other local farmers and traders,” the company statement explained.
The dairy farm itself holds a capacity of more than 2,000 locally-bred cows, which are housed in an open yard complex and monitored round the clock with a cooling system to reduce the effects of heat and stress, maintaining an adequate environment for the cows.
The farm includes two fully-automated milking parlours of 64 milking units each.
The factory has a daily capacity of more than 200 tonnes of dairy and beverage products.
Ghadeer, established in 1986, remains the only fully integrated dairy in the country.
