Qatar will still be attending an Opec meeting in Vienna on December 6, HE the Minister of Energy Affairs Saad Sherida al-Kaabi said.
Al-Kaabi on Monday announced Qatar would withdraw from the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries with effect from January 1, 2019.
“The decision was communicated to Opec this morning. We want to be transparent on the issue,” al-Kaabi said at a press conference at the Qatar Petroleum headquarters in Doha.
“I will be attending the Opec meeting this week for the first and last time as energy minister,” al-Kaabi said.
