Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has opened its latest petrol station along the Wholesale Market area as part of its ongoing expansion plans to serve every area in Qatar, the company announced in a statement on Sunday.
The Wholesale Market fuel station is the 80th facility in Woqod’s network of fuel stations, and is spread over a 5,700sq m area with three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve Wholesale Market and its neighbourhood.
The new fuel station offers round-the-clock services to residents, and includes Sidra convenience store, sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.
Woqod CEO Engineer Saad Rashid al-Muhannadi said: “We are pleased to open a new fixed petrol station on Wholesale Market. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.
“Woqod has recently accelerated the process for the construction of new petrol stations to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country. Members of the Woqod team would like to extend their gratitude to all governmental and private entities that contributed to the completion of this project.”
He added that Woqod is currently overseeing the implementation of 16 new petrol stations, some of which are expected to be operational this year. He noted that there are nine stations in the bidding phase and 14 stations in the design phase.
Al-Muhannadi said: “As part of its strategic expansion plan, Woqod is targeting a total of 130 fuel stations by the end of 2020.”
