In her opening address, Dr al-Maadeed described the forum as a valuable opportunity to develop students and empower them through research and the various requirements needed for the sustainable development of Qatar.
Al-Kubaisi told the students that the forum is an excellent opportunity for creating constructive dialogue among their peers. “You will develop your talents, discover your creative and innovative potential and strengthen your way of thinking by discussing your research on a scientific and also a humanistic basis. You will also learn to use these skills to solve problems, lead sustainable development projects and conduct meaningful, respectful dialogue with others from all walks of life.”
The idea of establishing a youth forum in Qatar aims at developing and highlighting the role of the society and the private sector in human development through education, establishment of universities and promoting the culture of scientific research and the benefits of museums.
The forum had sessions on various topics including: Gender equality, clean water and sanitation, and sustainable cities and communities.
