The 29th edition of the Doha International Book Fair, organised by the Ministry of Culture and Sports under the patronage of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al -Thani, will be held from November 29 to December 8, at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
More than 420 official publishers from about 30 countries will participate in the event, which reflects the large attendance of Arab and foreign countries taking part in the event.
Russia will be the Guest of Honour at the fair in the framework of the Qatar-Russia Year of Culture 2018. The Russian stall will organise a number of lectures, shows and workshops.
The fair will be open from 9am to 9pm except on Friday when it will remain open from 4pm to 10pm. The theme of the fair is "Doha, A City of Knowledge and Conscience". There will be a total of 791 stalls offering around 101,992 titles in Arabic and 17,261 titles in other foreign languages.
A number of ministries and government institutions will have participation at the fair.
Spain and the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic will participate for the first time in the exhibition this year. 
On the sidelines of the fair, there will be many cultural events, which will range from cultural cafes (a forum for writers and authors), exhibitions of fine arts, as well as children's theatre shows and various workshops.
Poetry nights (Fassih and Nabati) will be held by poets from Qatar and other Arab countries in cooperation with Diwan Al Arab (Qatar Poetry Center).
