Blue Salon has unveiled Parfums de Marly’s its “first marine fragrance for connoisseurs” – Percival.
“Percival is a modern and refined perfume whose name evokes a mythical thoroughbred from the ‘haras de France’. Presenting a subtle balance of citrus and aromatic notes on a woody base, (it) exudes a fresh, sensual and refined scent that will be remembered,” a press statement noted.
Created by Julien Sprecher, the founder of Parfums de Marly, in close collaboration with Hamid Merati-Kashani, a humanist perfumer and talented nose of the Maison Firmenich, this marine fragrance complements a collection in which this olfactory family was not present.
To create this “elegant, vivacious and addictive combination of scents”, a niche perfume “that incarnates body and density”, Sprecher committed himself to the highest standards of ingredients.
“Among the top notes, scents of bergamot and mandarin sublimated by a touch of aromatic water offer a unique combination. The heart notes that give Percival its character and depth offer a blend of natural jasmine, violet and geranium overlapping with lavender, coriander and cinnamon.
“On the skin, musk mixes with pepper, absolute balsam fir and, to give emphasis on the scents, woody spices are revealed in the base notes,” the press statement explained.
The choice equally emphasised certain “unparalleled” captive molecules from Maison Firmenich such as the Clearwood, a new asset to the palette of perfumers, offering them new methods of working with the woody character of Patchouli, the Hedione specific to the olfactory signature of Parfums de Marly and Ambrox, which confers on Percival “exceptional power and unique texture”.
Percival is created for all perfume lovers, always in search of luxury, authenticity and noble raw materials.
“Everyone knows what they like to wear, depending on the intimacy created with the skin, the clothes, but also depending on the circumstances,” says the perfumer. “I’m just inspiring a desire; everyone then has to decide.”
