The International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar, in collaboration with Thomson Reuters (now Refinitiv), will host a seminar titled ‘How can Innovation Stimulate Growth in Qatar’, which will take place on November 28 at the Qatar Chamber headquarters.
The session will focus on topics such as blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and ICOs (initial coin offerings) to help attendees attain more insight on the state of artificial intelligence and its potential, regulation vs innovation, banks vs Fintech, and innovation in Islamic finance.
In a statement, Qatar Chamber said: “Innovation and creative strategies are very well being adapted in the recent times within Qatar, and we truly believe this is the key to the ongoing growth and success of Qatar as a nation.
“We are proud to collaborate with Thomson Reuters in bringing this informative seminar to our local business community and hope that the attendees can benefit from the knowledge gained.”
Thomson Reuters in Qatar said, “Qatar Chamber and ICC Qatar play a major role in raising awareness and updating the business and commercial community in Qatar by holding such important events. We are pleased of this partnership and cooperation with them on all levels.”
It added: “Technology has made our lives infinitely easier, and yet we have not seen all that is still to come. Digital technology is ever evolving, and at an alarming pace. In fact, economists call this era the Fourth Industrial Revolution. They believe that digital technology and innovation is affecting the economy just as the steam engine, internal combustion engine and the microchip have, but at an exponential rate.
“It is plain for everyone to see that the world as we know it is not only changing, but being disrupted by technology and innovation. Many traditional sectors such as those in healthcare, retail and industry have been completely transformed by new technologies.”
