This comes after the department joined the ministry in accordance with Amiri Decision No. 68 of 2018, amending some provisions of Amiri Decision No. 16 of 2014 setting the competencies of the ministries, according to a statement.
Under the Amiri Decree, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry supervises commercial and industrial activities in the country.
In this connection, the ministry organised a welcome meeting last Thursday for industrial sector employees, aiming to integrate and adapt them to the work environment and introducing them to the ministry’s areas of responsibility and organisational structure.
HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari and a number of ministry officials attended the meeting.
The event featured a brief presentation on the ministry, its various departments, organisational structure, specialties, vision and objectives in accordance with Qatar National Vision 2030.
A simplified explanation was also presented on the regulations, laws, policies and procedures in force, and the ministry’s strategic plans for training and development, in order to enhance employees’ awareness of their rights and responsibilities.
Uruguay delegation learns about services for specialised schools
An educational delegation from Uruguay has concluded a visit to Qatar, during which it learned about services provided by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to specialised schools and the integration and teaching of students with learning disabilities and people with special needs in various categories (deaf and dumb, blind and the visually impaired).
The visit also represented an opportunity for the concerned bodies in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to learn about the experience of Uruguay in those fields and the services provided in this context.
Fawzia Abdulaziz al-Khater, assistant undersecretary for educational affairs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, commended the visit of the educational delegation, noting that the work team of the Special Education and Gifted Education Department in the ministry will continue with the exchange of experiences and educational knowledge between the two countries.
Head of the delegation expressed pleasure for the results achieved by the visit which allowed both sides to exchange experiences on various topics covered during meetings and visits.
In addition to meetings with officials at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the delegation also visited a number of centres and schools concerned with evaluation, counselling, support, integration and some specialised schools. (QNA)
