HE the Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti held talks with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), Kitack Lim, at IMO’s premises in London on Wednesday.
During the meeting, HE the Minister submitted Qatar’s candidature file for the membership of the Organization executive council under category "c", to the Secretary General.
The meeting discussed bilateral relations between Qatar and IMO in the field of marine transport and means of further developing them.
The meeting was attended by Yousef bin Ali Al Khater, Qatar’s ambassador to the UK.
HE the Minister also headed Qatar’s delegation to the IMO Council meetings, which started Tuesday in London to discuss the executive activities and policies of the Organization as well as financial matters.
