It’s going to get cooler in the country this week with the temperature dropping to less than 15C in some parts, the Qatar Met department has said.

In a report on Sunday, the weather office said “a noticeable drop in temperature is expected this week – by 4-5C – due to the continued effect of northwesterly winds over the country”.

The maximum temperature is expected to range from 24C to 29C during the day while the minimum will be between 16C and 22C at night, the report states.

Further, the Met department says the mercury level will drop below 15C in the southern parts of the country, especially at dawn on Thursday and Friday (November 22 and 23).

Monday’s forecast says strong winds and high seas are expected in offshore areas along with scattered clouds. The wind (northwesterly) speed will be 12-22 knots, going up to 38 knots in some places, while the sea level may rise to 15ft.

Moderate daytime temperature is expected in inshore areas on Monday along with slightly dusty conditions in some places at times and clouds. It will be mild by night.

The minimum temperature expected in the country on Monday is 19C in Wakrah, Mesaieed and Al Khor, 20C in Doha and Abu Samra, 24C in Dukhan and 26C in Ruwais. The maximum, on the other hand, will be 30C in Doha, Wakrah and Mesaieed, followed by 29C in Al Khor, 27C in Dukhan and Ruwais and 26C in Abu Samra.
