Doha Bank’s SME portfolio has been well-recognised after six of its small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) clients received awards as top SME companies in Doha during Qatar Development Bank’s (QDB) ‘SME Excellence List 2018’ awards ceremony held recently.
During the event, which recognised Qatar’s top 50 SMEs in 2018, Doha Bank was presented with the SME Excellence Award by HE the Qatar Central Bank Governor Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani, who is also QDB chairman.
Doha Bank is a pioneer in appreciating the importance of the very critical role being played by SMEs in the development of Qatar’s economy. Doha Bank was the first bank to launch ‘Tatweer’, a dedicated SME unit in 2008. Through this initiative, Doha Bank would continue to participate in Qatar’s diversification story by encouraging the SME sector. 
Doha Bank congratulated its customers for their excellent performance in the Qatar market by forming viable business models and making an impact on the Qatar economy. The bank’s award winning customers are New Era Controls, Olive International School, Q-Star Trading Company, Shahjan Trading & Contracting, Q Tickets & Events, and Quantum Qatar.
