The Bedaya Centre for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Centre), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, took part at the fourth edition of Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference ‘Rowad Qatar 2018’ under the theme ‘Turning Challenges into Opportunities’ during the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) held recently.
The three-day conference, held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, was aimed at helping and supporting creative and ambitious young people to establish their projects and explore their potentials, capabilities, and skills.
During the conference, Bedaya hosted a panel discussion under the theme ‘We Changed Mentalities’, which highlighted the impact key entrepreneurs had made on the community in diverse sectors such as culture, society, and economy.
During the conference, Bedaya held its weekly advising session to offer advice to entrepreneurs and project owners. Bedaya also organised a networking session encouraging entrepreneurs to learn from each other’s expertise and knowledge, as well as to get the service they need to improve their business.
Bedaya general manager Reem al-Sowaidi said, “The entrepreneurship sector in Qatar has witnessed positive and tangible results at all levels and a testament of this is that the country is ranked first in the Arab world and 22nd on a global level based on the report by the Global Observatory for Entrepreneurship, which demonstrates the interest and efforts of the state in this sector.
“The large number of participants during the three-day event is a clear indication of keen interest by concerned parties in the development of small and medium enterprises. During the panel discussion, we highlighted the impact the entrepreneurs have made on the local society from different perspectives and diverse sectors, in addition to exploring opportunities to support the startup projects through consultations conducted by Bedaya’s team during the conference.”
