Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Al-Jasrah Cultural and Social Club to enhance co-operation in youth, cultural, and volunteering activities.
The agreement was signed by QRCS executive director Youssef Abdullah al-Sada and Al-Jasrah Cultural and Social Club board member and public relations director Nahed Mohamed al-Naimi at a ceremony attended by Al-Jasrah Club’s secretary-general Mohamed Nasser al-Obaidan and external relations director Maha Abdul-Latif al-Kuwari.
“This agreement builds upon a long history of bilateral partnership in serving different segments of society, with a special focus on young women and men,” al-Sada said.
“The youth are currently the centre of attention for both the government and non-government organisations as part of an overall strategy of Qatar to unlock the potential of the youth, in pursuit of the human development goals of the country’s National Vision 2030,” he added.
Al-Naimi said the aim of the MoU with QRCS is to support humanitarian action in Qatar as well as to promote a culture of volunteerism in the cultural arena.
“On behalf of the board of directors of Al-Jasrah Club, I would like to take this opportunity to emphasise our keenness on strengthening relations with QRCS in diverse fields, particularly those addressed at the youth,” she added. “This MoU will hopefully serve as a platform to launch joint cultural and humanitarian programs by our club and QRCS”.
Under the one-year agreement, Al-Jasrah Club will host QRCS’ volunteering and volunteer recruitment events. The two parties have agreed to work together towards common humanitarian and social goals, attend each other's cultural, humanitarian and educational activities, organise workshops, training courses and conferences on relevant topics, exchange experience, information, and specialists, and co-operate on projects and research of mutual concern.
