At the outset of the talks, the Amir welcomed the Rwandan leader, who is president of the current session of the African Union, and his accompanying delegation.

The Amir spoke about the importance of the visit, which reflects the desire of the two sides to develop relations in various fields.
Kagame expressed thanks and appreciation to the Amir for the hospitality and warm reception accorded to him, and stressed the importance of the relations between the two countries.

The Rwanda president hoped the visit would contribute to enhancing friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
The two leaders reviewed aspects of co-operation between the two countries in the political, economic, investment and agricultural fields as well as mineral sector, and discussed prospects for developing them to serve the common interest and realise the aspirations of the two countries.
They also discussed the latest regional and international developments and exchanged views on them.

The Amir and Kagame also discussed strengthening co-operation between Qatar and the African Union.
After the talks, the Amir and the Rwandan president witnessed the signing of agreements on air services, promotion and protection of mutual investments and a memorandum of understanding on economic, trade and technical co-operation.

Earlier Rwandan president was accorded an official reception when he arrived at the Amiri Diwan.
The Amir later hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of Kagame and his accompanying delegation.
A number ministers attended the banquet.
