Corey Crawford stopped all 28 shots he faced, and Jeremy Colliton earned his first career coaching victory as the Chicago Blackhawks held on for a 1-0 win over the visiting St. Louis Blues on Wednesday night.
Brent Seabrook scored the lone goal for Chicago, which snapped an eight-game losing streak. The Blackhawks beat the Blues for the third time in four meetings this season. St. Louis lost its second straight game and was shut out for the first time this season. The scoreless night marked the end of Ryan O’Reilly’s 10-game points streak, which was a career high.
Colliton earned his milestone victory in his fourth game behind the bench for the Blackhawks, who fired longtime coach Joel Quenneville on Nov. 6.

Jets 3, Capitals 1
Ben Chiarot scored the tiebreaking goal for Winnipeg with 7:09 left in the third period, and Kyle Connor added an empty-net score in a victory over visiting Washington. Winnipeg had not held the lead until Chiarot scored on a long, knuckling slap shot that dipped under goalie Pheonix Copley’s glove.
Brandon Tanev got the only assist on the play. Connor produced the insurance goal after Copley had been pulled. That came with one minute remaining, and it stretched the Jets’ winning streak to three games.

Avalanche 6, Bruins 3
Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists, Nathan MacKinnon scored a tiebreaking goal midway through the third period, and host Colorado rallied to beat Boston in Denver. Semyon Varlamov stopped 20 shots. Jake DeBrusk scored two goals and David Pastrnak had a goal and an assist for the Bruins. Jaroslav Halak had 19 saves.

Alex Tuch and Nick Holden each had a goal and an assist, and Tomas Hyka also scored for Vegas, which snapped a two-game losing streak.
Max Pacioretty added two assists, his first two of the season. It was the 51st career shutout for Fleury, tying him with Curtis Joseph, Rogie Vachon, Tomas Vokoun and Dave Kerr for 24th place on the all-time NHL shutouts list.
