Qatar Military Logistics Conference begins

The fifth Qatar Military Logistics Conference (QMLC 2018) kicked off Tuesday under the title "Building Logistic Advantage in a Crisis, Through Military and Best Commercial Practice, Progress and Technology".
The two-day conference, organised by the Supply and Equipment Authority at the Qatar Armed Forces, is held under the patronage of HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, in the presence of HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem.
The conference brings together distinguished speakers with military, industrial and academic expertise from around the world, as well as senior officers of the Qatar Armed Forces.
At the outset of the conference, the Chief of Staff of the Qatar Armed Forces said that Qatar has for many years established unique platforms coupled with serious work to build a model armed forces capable of carrying out its tasks and responsibilities.
He noted that the success of the Qatar Armed Forces in the future, at home and abroad, will be based on the main axes of excellence and innovation in the field of supply and military equipment, especially in the face of challenges that can only be met through expansion, speed and sustainability in the provision of military supplies and equipment.
For his part, Head of Supply and Equipment Authority at the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Mohamed Jaber Mohamed Labdah said in the opening session of the conference that supply is a very important tool in achieving the combat capability of Qatar.
During the conference, a video was displayed to introduce the event and present the logistics capabilities of Qatar, such as air transport and the fleet of ships.
The topics discussed during the conference included the unprecedented retooling process implemented by the Qatar Armed Forces in the current period, which will give it an opportunity to acquire highly developed equipment (air, land and sea). The topic has contributed to enriching the conference through presentations, discussions and questions.
