The Kuwaiti army began yesterday drills called “Pearl of the West” with live ammunition in co-operation with the French Armed Forces, which will continue until November 30.
In a statement carried out by Kuwait’s KUNA, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence said the army regularly conducts the joint war-games with the French forces to uplift 
personnel combat readiness.
Troops will fire live ammunition during the exercises, held at Al-Udaira shooting range, northwest of Kuwait City, the statement added.
The ministry stressed that the drills are for enhancing the co-operation between the Kuwaiti and French forces through collective training, to maintain performance levels and to raise the combat efficiency of all ranks of the armed forces.
