HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari has visited the Flying Eye Hospital, operated by global eye health charity Orbis, currently in Doha celebrating Doha Healthcare Week, which kicked off on Tuesday and will last until Monday.

The minister was briefed on the facilities on board the flying hospital, including educational and medical sections.

The flying hospital is an aircraft that has been equipped to be a hospital. She explained the importance of partnership with Orbis through the Qatar Creating Vision initiative, a unique humanitarian initiative aimed at helping millions of children in India and Bangladesh to detect diseases.

The initiative was launched by the Qatar Fund for Development and is being implemented through partner charitable organisations, notably Orbis.

She also praised the importance of the Doha Healthcare Week and its unique activities to promote awareness and encourage people to adopt healthy lifestyles. "This reinforces our goals for the people of Qatar to enjoy a healthier future," she added.

Doha Healthcare Week is being organised by the Ministry of Public Health, Qatar Foundation and many partners ahead of the World Health Innovation Summit (WISH 2018) which will take place on November 13 and 14.
