HE the Advisory Council Speaker Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud praised the speech delivered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani at the opening of the council's 47th ordinary session on Tuesday.
He described the speech as comprehensive as the Amir spoke about the internal and external affairs, including the development of Qatar's economy, its growth rate and the promising expectations of financial and economic institutions for the future, which is a clear message for the current and future generations that Qatar takes matters seriously and is ready to work hard to meet the requirements of its citizens according to its national strategy, so that it is always in the lead.
The Speaker said the Amir touched on the achievements made with regards to Qatar National Vision 2030 and the very important element of water and food security, as well as His Highness' visions for the future of Qatar.
In a press statement made on the sidelines of the the council's session, HE al-Mahmoud said His Highness the Amir spoke about a number of issues that are of importance to the Arab and Islamic world including the Palestinian issue, which shows his interest in the matter and the rights of the Palestinian people.
The Speaker said the council will implement its duty in terms of preparing bills that are in line with the vision of His Highness the Amir and Qatar National Vision 2030 to make Qatar a leading country in the region, and the council will work within this framework to achieve citizens' wishes and the welfare of the nation.
On the council's priorities for the upcoming phase, HE al-Mahmoud said it will closely co-operate with the government, highlighting that draft laws will be the catalyst for economic development.
He added that the council will work in all directions, internally and externally, to live up to the expectations of the people of Qatar, under the wise leadership. It will also work as hard as possible to meet the expectations of the leadership and the vision and strategy of His Highness the Amir and his wise directives adding that he is honoured to be serving Qatar to always keep it in the lead.
