Former Qatar international and Al Sadd star Abdullah Obaid Juma passed away Monday morning following a heart attack. He was in his 60’s.
After his playing career was over, Obaid coached Sadd team to their first-ever AFC Champions League success in 1989. He then became a football analyst on the Al Kass TV for the Qatar Stars League and other tournaments.
He was a popular figure in the football circles and his demise came as a shock to many. The football fraternity including the 2022 FIFA World Cup organising committee (Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy) and several clubs mourned his death. The burial was held Monday.
