Tawar Mall has partnered with Novo Cinemas, the Middle East’s largest chain of cinemas and a subsidiary of Elan Media, to open a multiplex at the mall.
The multiplex, which will consist of “state-of-the-art screens as well as a VIP 7-star offering”, will open in the first quarter of 2019, it was announced during an event held at the Panorama hall, Tawar Mall, recently.
“Novo Cinemas at Tawar Mall will feature 10 premium theatres that will include two luxury 7-star theatres with personal butler service, a fine-dining menu selection and fully reclining automated seats,” a press statement notes.
Jaber al-Ansari, Elan Group CEO, said: “As we continue to expand our presence in the Middle East, Novo Cinemas at Tawar Mall will be a unique addition to our collection. The venue will maintain Novo Cinemas’ extraordinary standards with the implementation of the latest cinema technology, providing an unmatched entertainment experience for visitors. We look forward to developing a cultural and innovative cinema space for this innovative neighbourhood with the help of Tawar Mall.”
‘Unique features’ such as rooftop lounges, a dancing water fountain and others have drawn the region’s people to its “unique shopping experience”, making Tawar Mall “one of the most-visited shopping malls” the statement points out.
The Old Souq, which is a “never-seen-before attraction”, is a rendition of an ancient Arabian market that supports local SMEs and provides them with a platform to showcase their business.
Jassim Jabr Tawar al-Kuwari, chairman of Tawar Mall, said: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Novo Cinemas to the Tawar Mall family. Partnering with this evolving industry allows us to bring our vision of redefining entertainment. We are excited to be bringing entertainment to the residents of Qatar at a prime location like Tawar Mall and are confident that the Novo Cinemas niche cinematic experience will exhibit our aims to deliver outstanding entertainment.”
Tawar Mall will increase Novo Cinemas’ brand footprint to a total of 175 screens across the region.
By next year, Novo Cinemas aim to have seven IMAX screens, including three IMAX Laser and the largest IMAX Laser in the Middle East, helping them attain a total of more than 220 screens by the end of next year, the statement adds.
