Harley-Davidson Qatar revealed the new 2019 motorcycle range during a special ceremony held recently at its showroom on Salwa Road.
The models launched on the occasion included the all-new Softail FXDR, introduced in Qatar for the first time.
The ceremony was headed by Ayman Mohamed Ali, Harley-Davidson general manager in Qatar, and attended by Harley Owners Group (HOG) director Abdulah al-Mehshadi, Jeep Owners Group director Salem Alshamsi and other motorcycle club directors and riders alongside fans of the brand with their friends and families.
Sheikh Faleh bin Nawaf al-Thani, Operations director – Auto at NBK Holding, said: “Harley-Davidson Qatar is continuing its successful record as the best partner of real bikers. These new models we revealed will meet the passionate bikers’ aspiration to enjoy long journeys and join the family of HOG. Despite the current blockade, NBK Holding is moving forward with its progressive plans of growth. We hope our bikers will enjoy the new Harleys and the best deals we are offering.” During the event, more than 500 attendees were treated to magic shows and also had the chance to benefit from the direct offers available. “Harley-Davidson Qatar continues to offer special deals on bikes and more discounts on parts, accessories and merchandise of Harley-Davidson available at the showroom,” a press statement noted. The newly revealed 2019 models included the all-new Softail FXDR, Touring Ultra Limited, Touring Street Glide Special, Softail Fat Boy Special, Softail Fat Bob Special and Sportster 48 Special.
The all-new Softail FXDR 114 is a “feast for the eyes with performance and attitude that’s off the leash”, according to the statement. “It is fast on the straights and agile in the corners. It has an inverted race-style design with single cartridge technology that improves response to steering input and braking and handling performance.”
The 2019 48 Special has a 1,200cc Evolution V-Twin engine. It is equipped with “quick handling and throwback 70s art” on the tank, and the bike is shaped to “provide the ideal balance of rise and width”.
The 2019 Fat Bob motorcycle features “aggressive, unapologetic styling, mind-blowing performance and handling, premium finishes and the massive torque of the Milwaukee-Eight engine”. It is equipped with “bold aluminium wheels with fat aggressive tyres that give asphalt-eating traction”.
The 2019 Fat Boy is the original fat custom icon – now lighter than the previous-generation Fat Boy, and slinging torque from a Milwaukee-Eight 107 or 114. “Riders will feel the difference the instant they crack the throttle. The reinvented frame retains the classic Softail lines but its lightweight design and stiffness translate to a responsive ride unlike anything you have felt before,” the statement added.
The custom “hot rod bagger” 2019 Street Glide Special look stops people in their tracks. Now powered up with the Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine, the “powerful bike will leave them in the dust”. It is equipped with “big bold black wheels with spokes that extend all the way to the edge of the rim, so riders can roll in with style and attitude”.
The 2019 Ultra Limited is “truly different, from the new Milwaukee-Eight 114 engine to the heated hand grips”. It is provided with a GTS infotainment system and more. This bike is designed to “deliver smoother airflow and reduced head buffering with a pressure-equalising duct on the front”, which opens and closes with one touch of a button.
The new 2019 motorcycles are available now at the Harley-Davidson Doha showroom on Salwa Road.
