Sony Middle East and Africa and Fifty One East have unveiled the latest addition to the popular Cyber-shot RX100 series of premium compact cameras with the launch of the RX100 VI (model DSC-RX100M6) in Qatar.
The launch of the RX100 VI brings “unmatched clarity and precision to images shot indoors and outdoors”, according to a press statement.
Sony, a “worldwide leader in digital imaging and the world’s largest image sensor manufacturer”, has also announced the VCT-SGR1, a versatile and compact new shooting grip best suited for its RX0 and RX100 series of cameras .
The innovative new RX100 VI camera and VCT-SGR1 shooting grip will be available at Fifty One East Al Maha Center on Salwa Road, FNAC in Lagoona Mall and Doha Festival City, Virgin Megastore in Landmark, Villaggio and Doha Festival City along with major electronics retailers in Qatar.
Deemed as one of the largest Sony events in Doha, the launch of the RX100 VI brought photography enthusiasts and influencers closer, and together they pushed their boundaries and showcased their photographic creativity through their own perspective.
It also offered a memorable experience for all the participants to create photographic masterpieces in line with the theme of the event, “gourmet food”, the statement noted.
This latest premium compact camera combines portability, flexibility, fast responsiveness and professional image quality, making it an ideal choice for capturing daily life, cityscapes, portraiture and sports, including wildlife.
It is the first of all the RX100 models to include a high magnification zoom lens, as it packs in an impressive ZEISS Vario-Sonnar T* 24-200mm F2.8 – F4.5 lens.
Inside the camera is a one-inch stacked 20.1 MP Exmor RS CMOS image sensor with DRAM chip and an upgraded BIONZ X image processor with a front-end LSI that maximises processing speed and optimises image quality in all shooting environments.
Additionally, the RX100 VI features an efficient Fast Hybrid AF system with 315-point phase-detection AF points on the sensor that can acquire focus in as little as 0.03 seconds, the world’s fastest AF acquisition time for 1.0-type sensor cameras.
It can also shoot at up to 24 fps at full resolution with continuous AF/AE tracking and produces beautiful 4K video with full pixel readout and no pixel binning.
