Six leading companies from France visited Doha on Wednesday and Thursday to present the French offering in the sports sector.
The visit coincided with the 48th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Qatar.
The visit was aimed at reinforcing relations with Qatari decision-makers, giving the companies an opportunity to position themselves in the promising market in view of the 2022 FIFA World Cup and within the framework of dynamic bilateral ties between the two countries, a press statement noted. Contracts worth billions of euros were signed in December 2017 between France and Qatar, it added.
In this context, Business France, the national agency supporting the international development of the French economy, organises B2B meetings with Qatari decision makers and partners in the sports sector. The French companies that made up the delegation, Netco, Fizfab, Bodycap, ParisTurf, Movin'smart and Metaluplast, have a diverse range of expertise.
Netco designs and develops multiplatform applications and OTT solutions (value-added) for key sports and media players. They are at the “forefront of technology” and integrate innovative solutions, such as virtual reality, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, etc in the value chain -- from video recording to end users’ applications.
Fizfab specialised in the manufacture of technical equipment for sports halls and medical practitioners through brands such as Genin, Laroq and Multiwell. Bodycap develops miniature wireless electronic sensors and embedded monitoring solutions. Specialising in wearable connected devices for physiological data monitoring, its innovative, hi-tech products are used in the medical, research and sports sectors to enhance performance and ergonomy.
ParisTurf Group is positioning itself in the sports data market by quantifying data to analyse and measure the progress of racing animals such as the heart rate of a horse or camel. Movin'smart ensures the design, development and operation of devices for monitoring the physical activity of the horse and rider, to improve training, performance and health.
Metaluplast is a company that specialises in the design and manufacture of sports fencing, sports equipment and multi-sports pitch in steel and aluminium that can be rough, galvanised and plastic-coated. The companies were scheduled to meet with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, Qatar Olympic Committee, several sports federations, as well as distributors and local partners.
