Ooredoo has announced that the company is once again the Main Sponsor of the ‘Disaster Management Camp’ in Qatar.
The annual ‘Disaster Management Camp’ is now in its eighth year and aims to build a well-trained base of volunteers who can respond to disasters timely and effectively.
The camp, which this year is being held at the Marine Scout Camp in Al Khor from October 23 to November 1, will be attended by 250 trainees and trainers from Qatar government bodies and NGOs, including friendly national societies, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies (IFRC), and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Manar Khalifa al-Muraikhi, director of PR and Corporate Communications at Ooredoo, said: “We’re delighted to be supporting the ‘Disaster Management Camp’ for the second year and congratulate everyone involved in organising the important event.
“Ooredoo is proud to help build life-saving skills in our community and this camp will help minimise casualties in any future disasters.”
