HE the Minister of Interior and Local Communities of Algeria Noureddine Bedoui said that Algeria's participation in Milipol Qatar 2018 reflects his country's willingness to co-ordinate efforts, exchange information to combat terrorism and various security challenges facing the world. He added this is an opportunity to evaluate and activate the security agreement signed between Qatar and Algeria in 2016 for co-operation in the exchange of information and experience and the development of bilateral relations.
The Algerian minister stressed that combating terrorism and violent extremism is a challenge that is not limited to specific countries, but is a cross-border scourge that requires strong and effective international solidarity, adding that this why organizing the Milipol Qatar exhibition is important. The expo presents the latest innovations to counter terrorism and various crimes faced by the world, he said.
The Minister of Interior of Sudan Ahmed Bilal Osman highlighted Milipol Qatar's international and regional status, pointing out that it is an important platform for presenting the latest developments in modern technology in the field of internal security and civil defence, as well as being an important forum for exchanging experiences with specialists, and an opportunity to strengthen and develop relations between internal security leaders.
He noted the keenness of the Sudanese ministry of interior to register its presence in Milipol Qatar and to learn about the latest internal security techniques in this international exhibition, pointing out that it is witnessing a remarkable development from one edition to another in terms of increasing the number of participating countries and the quality of the technologies displayed.
He expressed his hope to hold meetings with the heads and members of the delegations of other countries on the sidelines of the exhibition to develop bilateral relations, stressing at the same time the depth of Qatari-Sudanese relations in the fields of police work, training and rehabilitation.
The Minister of State for Interior of Pakistan Shehryar Khan Afridi said that Milipol Qatar is one of the most important exhibitions in the internal security and civil defence field, pointing out that the expo includes security equipment in civil protection and internal security, in addition to the latest systems related to cybersecurity and securing major events.
The minister of state for pnterior of Pakistan praised the relations between his country and Qatar as well as the bilateral co-operation between them in various fields. He added that co-operation between the two countries is continuing at various levels and is constantly developing with the keenness of the two countries to open prospects for partnership at various levels.
Director General of the Criminal Investigation Department at the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait Major General Fahad al-Dosari said that his country is keen to participate in this major event and that Milipol Qatar is witnessing a remarkable development in terms of increased number of companies, exhibitors or participating countries.
He noted the importance of the exhibition as it provides the latest equipment used in the police work, whether in the security aspect or in terms of achieving the public safety of the community, and the response to accidents and disasters in general, praising at the same time the excellent organisation reflected in the large attendance from companies and exhibitors from various countries of the world.
For his part, Major General Engineer Bashir Abdi Mohamed, commander of the Somali police, expressed his admiration of the great efforts made by the organising committee of the exhibition and highlighted its importance to the securitymen and police cadres, as it showcased the latest products and equipment and the technologies in the field of defence and security.
He pointed out that this was his first visit to Qatar, which gave him a good impression in light of the presence of a number of ministers and officials and police leaders from around the world. Brigadier General Obaidullah Abed Rabbo al-Maaitah, Assistant Director of Public Security for Operations in Jordan, expressed his pleasure at participate in the opening of Milipol Qatar 2018.
He pointed out that the combination of devices and equipment for security and civil defence and rescue field is one of the important aspects that improve the work of the police and make them more able to carry out their tasks both in the establishment of security and stability in the community or in terms of public safety, noting that the exhibition allows those responsible to explore the latest science and technology developments in these important areas.
In the same context, Turkish Deputy Minister of Defence Mohsen Diri stressed that co-operation between Qatar and Turkey is worthy of emulation and that the strategic partnership between the two countries continues to grow and develop in all fields, especially in the defence and security industries. He pointed out that the close relationship between the leaderships of the two countries also deepened the relations between the two peoples.
On the sidelines of the opening of Milipol Qatar 2018, Mohsen Diri said that Turkish companies have registered a strong presence in this year's edition to introduce their products and the extent of their development in the defence and security industries.
He pointed out that he held a number of meetings with Qatari officials to discuss the mechanisms of co-operation between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them especially in the security and defence fields. He also discussed prospects for co-operation in the field of electronic industries and called on Qatari investors to explore the great opportunities and investment incentives offered by the Turkish government in the industrial sector.

Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Azerbaijan Zalov Oruj and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan Mirzayev, said that Milipol Qatar provides specialists with access to the latest technologies related to security and civil protection, as well as exchanging experiences and enhancing partnerships through bilateral meetings with delegations of participating countries.
