Representative of Qatar to the United Nations in Geneva, ambassador Ali
Khalfan al-Mansouri, met United Nations High Commissioner for Human
Rights Michelle Bachelet in Geneva yesterday. The ambassador
congratulated Bachelet on her appointment as the United Nations High
Commissioner for Human Rights, and discussed with her the blockade
enforced on Qatar for more than 500 days. The ambassador also stressed
the importance of doing everything possible to end the arbitrary and
unilateral measures against Qatar. The two sides also reviewed ties
between Qatar and the UN High Commission, expressing their aspiration
for enhancing and developing them further.
