Qatar Fuel (Woqod) has opened two new petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama, and one mobile station in Al Wakrah, as part of the company’s ongoing expansion plans.

Woqod CEO engineer Saad Rashid a- Muhannadi said, “We are pleased to open two new fixed petrol stations in Al Kharaitiyat and Al Thumama. Woqod aspires to expand its petrol station network in the country to meet the rising demand for petroleum products and achieve the goal of providing customers with access to best-in-class products and services at their convenience and comfort.

“Woqod has recently accelerated the process for the construction of new petrol stations and will announce the opening of new petrol stations during this month to meet the fuel and energy needs of the country. The Woqod team would like to extend its gratitude to the all concerned governmental and private entities that contributed are contributing to the completion of this project.”

Al Kharaitiyat is spread over an 11,300sq m area and has three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve the Al Kharaitiyat community. Al Thumama-2 is spread over a 7,000sq m area and has three lanes with nine dispensers that will serve Al Thumama and its neighbourhood.

In addition, the number of dispensers was increased to enhance the quality of the service and reduce the vehicle congestion at the petrol stations.

Al Muhannadi said the two new petrol stations offer round-the-clock services to residents, and includes Sidra convenience store, manual car wash, oil change and tire repair, sale of LPG cylinders, in addition to sale of gasoline and diesel products for light vehicles.

He added that Woqod is currently working in the construction of 25 petrol station projects, and a big number of these projects is expected to be operational this year. He said Woqod has currently seven new stations in the tendering phase and 16 stations in the design phase. He assured that two new fixed petrol stations and more mobile stations will be opened next week.

Al Muhannadi said Woqod, in furtherance of customer’s satisfaction, opened one mobile station in Al Wakrah for gasoline. He said the move was part of Woqod’s strategic expansion plan, which is to achieve a total of 120 fuel stations by the end of 2020.
