A delegation from Kuwait was briefed, during a visit to Hamad International Airport (HIA), on the expertise of Qatar in the field of airport security.
The delegation was briefed on the means, devices and technical and electronic capabilities used at the airport to facilitate the movement of passengers and their departure.
The delegation, led by the Director General of Directorate General of Airport Security in Kuwait, Major General Walid Ahmed al-Saleh, was familiarised with the security system, modern equipment and advanced technologies used by HIA Security Department in inspecting and ensuring the safety of passengers and the civil aviation movement.
They also listened to a detailed presentation on the tasks provided by Airport Passports Department and the advanced technology used at the entry and departure of passengers gates.
Director of Airport Security Department Brigadier General Issa Arar al-Rumaihi noted that the visit of the Kuwaiti delegation to HIA comes within the framework of co-operation and co-ordination between the two countries and keenness to exchange experiences in the field of security of ports and airports.
Al-Rumaihi explained that the Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the technology adopted at HIA to facilitate the movement of passengers and ensure security, including the modern equipment used, especially the smart security robot to monitor suspects and detect weapons, explosives, counterfeit currency, counterfeit credit cards, etc.
Director of Airport Passports Department Colonel, Mohamed Rashid al-Mazrouei, said that the Kuwaiti delegation was briefed on the modern regulations used by the department to provide the highest standards in the field of facilitating passport procedures for entry and exit of travellers and maintaining smooth work.
For his part, Major General Walid Ahmed al-Saleh praised the expertise of Qatar in airport security, noting HIA’s security system and the advanced devices that contribute to facilitating the movement of passengers.
He also stressed the importance of continued co-operation between Qatar and Kuwait and the exchange of experience in the field of airport security, ports and other fields stipulated in the agreements signed between the two countries.
