HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, Dr Khalid bin Mohamed al-Attiyah, met the Italian Minister of Defence, Elisabetta Trenta, at the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Rome yesterday. The meeting reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and Italy, and means of enhancing and developing them. After the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence and the Italian minister of defence attended the signing ceremony of the
operational training agreement with the Italian side and the establishment of the national squadron of the NH90 helicopter in Italy. The agreement was signed for Qatar by the head of NH90 Helicopter project, Brigadier General (pilot) Mashout Faisal al-Hajri, and for Italy by the Director of the Third Department of Industrial Policy and International Relations, Brigadier General Pasquale Montegiglio. The meeting was also attended by the ambassador of Qatar to Italy, Abdulaziz bin Ahmed al-Malki al-Jahani, the Qatari Military Attache in Italy Brigadier General (naval), Hilal Ali al-Mohannadi, and a number of senior officers from the Qatar Armed Forces.
