The regular cabinet meeting, chaired by HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani meeting, on Wednesday approved a draft law on organic inputs and products.

The draft law aims at regulating the production of and trading in organic agricultural and animal products within the country and controlling them to improve the quality of goods and keep abreast of developments in the field of specifications in the world.
The provisions of this law shall apply in the State to any person engaged in the production, manufacturing, processing, trading, import and export of organic inputs and products.
It shall also apply to licensed production units.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Hassan bin Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi stated that the Cabinet also approved a draft decree on Common Customs Tariff.
It also approved a draft decision amending some of the provisions of decision No 29 of 2016 on forming the Permanent Committee for Industrial Area Affairs.
The committee established at the Ministry of the Interior is responsible for unifying the work plans in the industrial zone for all parties, participating in following up the implementation of the projects in co-ordination with the authorities concerned and removing any obstacles between the competent authorities during the implementation of various projects and after completing them in coordination with the concerned authorities.
The Cabinet also approved a draft decision to amend the exceptions stipulated in the Commerce and Transactions Law promulgated by Decree Law No 16 of 2010 on some documents.
It also approved the proposal of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to send a staff from the ministry to some countries to serve as commercial attaches, and a draft agreement on legal co-operation between the Ministry of Justice of Qatar and the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs of Bangladesh.
The Cabinet, meanwhile, reviewed the letter of the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics and Chairman of the Permanent Population Committee regarding the completion of the implementation of the recommendations related to the control of the rate of population growth and took the appropriate decision.
During the meeting, the Minister of Development Planning and Statistics made a presentation on the second quarterly report on the progress in the implementation of the National Development Strategy (2018-2022).
