Nakilat recently participated in the Qatar Shipping Forum 2018 held at Marriott Doha hotel, which gathered local shipping and maritime professionals.

This is the first such forum to be organised in Qatar by DNV GL, one of the world's leading providers of marine classification services, marine risk management and licensing. The event provided a great platform for discussions on the latest trends and challenges facing the global maritime industry.
The forum was chaired by Nakilat, represented by chief operating officer (Fleet), Samir Bailouni, who gave the opening speech. During his speech, he highlighted Qatar’s economic growth and development as a maritime hub and shared his perspective on International shipping market trends and challenges facing players in the dynamic shipping industry.
The forum deliberated on a diverse range of topics such as the role of the maritime sector in sustaining Qatar’s economy, upcoming maritime regulations, market outlook of gas, FSRUs and offshore vessels, future trends in design of liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipping, enhancing operational efficiencies and more.
In addition to chairing the event, Nakilat also shared insights on the application of process safety management (PSM) within the shipping industry, towards ensuring safe operation of vessels.
