The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) yesterday conducted an inspection campaign targeting modes of transport by sea with the participation of the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security and Qatar Tourism Authority.
The campaign falls within the framework of continuous co-operation and co-ordination between all bodies concerned countrywide and aims to ensure all modes of transport of sea follow and work in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, the ministry has said in a statement.
The initiative also aims to crack down on violations and is conducted with an eye on ensuring maritime safety and security as well as protecting lives and property at sea.
Yesterday’s campaign is one in a series of campaigns to be conducted over the coming period within the framework of a plan set by the bodies concerned to ensure the highest levels of maritime safety and security on Qatari waters.
