Joby Davis, a technician at Jumbo Electronics who specialises in home entertainment products, has won the ‘Grand Master’ title for premium products at the 8th LG MEA Service Skill Olympiad.
Every year, LG organises a service Skill Olympiad for the Middle East and Africa region where top technicians from each country are invited to participate in a skill competition that will test their technical knowledge and the skills of LG products.
Davis has now been invited to participate in LG’s Global Skill Olympiad to be held from November 6-9 in South Korea.
There, apart from the Skill Olympiad, he will get to experience LG’s research centre at the LG Twin Towers in Seoul and also undertake a sightseeing tour of the city to experience Korean culture.
Video Home & Electronic Center, with one of the largest service centres in Qatar, regularly undertakes training workshops and skill upgradation programmes for its technicians and also participates in similar competitions in the region organised by various brands, a press statement noted.
Such training equips the service technicians with the latest technical know-how, which enables them to address any product complaint promptly.
